About

Who does this work

We are a small lab in Port Chester, New York. We preserve cats and dogs by freeze drying, and we have done it for hundreds of families. The work is slow, quiet and largely invisible. That is the point.

The lineage

Where it comes from

The practice traces back to Mike “Mac” McCullough of Mac’s Taxidermy, who spent decades proving that a pet could be kept as they actually were rather than rebuilt to look like it. His work was covered by 20/20 and the Wall Street Journal long before most people had heard the words freeze dry.

We learned the method in that lineage and we have not tried to modernize it into something faster. Cold and vacuum do the work. Everything else is patience and attention.

What we believe

01

Say the true thing

We will tell you how long it takes and what it costs, even when the answer is longer or more than you hoped.

02

Only cats and dogs

We do not take wildlife. Staying narrow is how the work stays good.

03

No rush, ever

Some people call within the hour. Some call a week later. We answer the same way both times.
